About the Mission:
Patriot Guard Riders has been requested to stand in honor of the life and service of Edmund J. Wesolowski of Eden, NY, who passed away on 17 October 2022.
Mr. Wesolowski served our nation for 3 years, and 8 months on active duty in the U.S. Navy from 1952-1956. He held the ratings of Gunner's Mate and Salvage Diver, and he had 3 years, and 4 months of sea service aboard the following 2 Navy vessels: USS Great Sitkin (AE-17), a Mount Hood-class ammunition ship; and the USS Recovery (ARS-43), a Bolster-class rescue and salvage ship. Mr. Wesolowski was honorably discharged from active duty on 14 June 1956 with the rank of Petty Officer 3rd Class (E-4). He earned the Navy Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and Cold War Service Medal.
Mr. Wesolowski was a member of the Newell - Faulkner American Legion Post 880 in Eden, NY, and he was a proud participant on Buffalo Niagara Honor Flight in May, 2019.

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.
Special Information:
PGR will provide a respectful flag line for the arrival of the family and guests. The Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 10:00 AM. Following the Mass and dignified transfer, PGR will provide an escort to Saints Peter & Paul Cemetery, 1 Veit Rd, Hamburg, NY 14075 for burial with Military Honors. Please arrive with a clean 3x5 American or U.S. Navy flag and dress for the weather.
