| About the Mission: | The Patriot Guard Riders have been requested to stand in honor of the life and service of E. Kurt Schirmer of Williamsville, NY, who passed away on 29 April 2022. Mr. Schirmer served almost 3 years on active duty in the US Army from 1966-1969, with an MOS of 71H20-Personnel Specialist. He served 6 months of foreign duty in Vietnam, assigned to the 34th Engineer Group (Construction.) Mr. Schirmer was honorably discharged from active duty on 16 August 1969 with the rank of Specialist 5th Class (E-5), and he earned the following awards: Army Good Conduct Medal; Army Commendation Medal; National Defense Service Medal; Vietnam Service Medal; 2 Army Overseas Service Bars; Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal; and M-16 Rifle Expert Qualification Badge. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters. |
| Special Information: | PGR will stage with a respectful flag line to await the arrival of the family and Dengler, Roberts, Perna Funeral Home personnel. KSU at 12:15 for the 12-mile escort to the WNY National Cemetery, 1254 Indian Falls Road, Corfu, NY 14036 for the interment ceremony with Military Honors.
