About the Mission:

Patriot Guard Riders has been requested to stand in honor of the life and service of Donald Daniel Marusiak of Livonia/Redfield, NY, who passed away on 21 December 2022.

Mr. Marusiak served our nation on active duty in the US Army from 1958-1962, with an Army MOS of 951.10-Military Policeman. He had over 2 years of foreign duty in France, and was assigned to the 66th Military Police Company, 4th US Army. Mr. Marusiak earned the Army Good Conduct Medal, Cold War Service Medal, and Weapons Qualification Badges for M-1 Rifle, Carbine, and .45 Cal Pistol.

SPECIAL NOTE: Donald Marusiak was the youngest of 10 sons of Polish immigrants Frank & Katherine Marusiak. All 10 served our nation in the military, including 9 who served in combat. The family received a commendation from the Department of Veterans Affairs in 1992.

Mr. Marusiak formerly served with the Redfield, NY Volunteer Fire Department, including duty with the Fire Police.

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:

Updated 8 March 2022

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.

Special Information:

PGR will stand by in preparation for completion of the calling hours (10:00-12:00).  PGR will provide a respectful flag line for the dignified transfer of Mr. Marusiak's casket to the hearse, then will provide an escort to St. Matthew Catholic Church, 6591 Richmond Mills Road (Rt. 20A), Livonia, NY 14487 for the 12:30 PM Funeral Mass.   Following Mass, military honors will be rendered outside the church. Mr. Marusiak's casket will then be transferred back to the hearse for transport to the funeral home's Winter storage facility. Interment will take place in the spring in Redfield, NY.  Please arrive with a clean 3x5 American or US Army flag, dress for the weather, and ensure your large flags are securely attached.

NOTE: The week of 2 January 2023 is becoming busy in the Region. Please do your best to help support the missions, including this one in honor of Donald Daniel Marusiak, and in support of his proud and loving family.
