About the Mission:
The family of retired US Army Chief Warrant Officer-2 Joseph D. Weldon, Sr. has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in honoring his life and service. CW2 Weldon of Ticonderoga, NY passed away on 23 November 2023 at the age of 95.
Full military service information is pending, but we know that CW2 Weldon served our nation for 20 years on active duty in the US Army Signal Corps and Army Reserve from 1946-1966, with an Army MOS of 721AO-Crytographic Technician. A veteran of the WW-II Era, Korea War Era and Vietnam War Era, CW2 Joseph D. Weldon, Sr. had a total of 4 years of foreign service, and he received his honorable retirement from active duty on 30 September 1966. At the least he earned the following awards: Army Commendation Medal w/1 Oak Leaf Cluster (2 Awards); WW-II Victory Medal; and National Defense Service Medal w/1 Service Star (2 Awards).

Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.
Special Information:
PGR will stand by with a respectful flag line for arrival of the CW2 Weldon, his family, and the funeral director. KSU at 9:30 AM for the escort to WNY National Cemetery, 1254 Indian Falls Road, Corfu, NY 14036 for the 10:00 AM Interment and military honors.
Please be prepared with a clean 3x5 American or US Army flag, dress for the weather, and ensure your large flags are securely attached. Thank you for taking time to help honor the US Army career of Chief Warrant Officer-2 Joseph D. Weldon, Sr., and to support his proud and loving family.
