About the Mission:

Patriot Guard Riders has been requested to stand in honor of the extraordinary life and service of US Air Force (Ret.) Colonel Harry P. Snoreck of Andover, NY, who passed away on 28 September 2022.

Col Snoreck served as an enlisted Airman during the Korean War from 1952-1955, then transitioned to become an Air Force officer, serving active duty for over 27 years from 1955-1982.  He achieved the rank of Colonel (O-6) before retiring on 31 July 1982. He completed numerous leadership and command training courses during his career, and he held the Air Force Specialties of Organizational Commander; Instructor; Aerospace Maintenance Director; Air Operations Staff Officer and Pilot; Aircraft Observation Instructor, and Tactical Airlift Pilot. Col Snoreck had a total of 4-1/2 years of foreign service, including Vietnam and Southeast Asia.

During his career, Col. Snoreck earned multiple awards, including: Legion of Merit; Bronze Star Medal; Meritorious Service Medal w/2 Oak Leaf Clusters; Air Medal w/1 Oak Leaf Cluster; Air Force Commendation Medal; National Defense Service Medal w/1 Bronze Service Star; Vietnam Service Medal w/1 Silver & 1 Bronze Service Star; Air Force Presidential Unit Citation Ribbon w/1 Oak Leaf Cluster; Air Force Outstanding Unit Award w/1 Oak Leaf Cluster; Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross w/Palm; Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal; Air Force Longevity Service Award Ribbon w/1 Silver & 1 Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster; Combat Readiness Medal; Air Force Good Conduct Medal w/1 Oak Leaf Cluster; Armed Forces Reserve Medal; Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal w/2 Oak Leaf Clusters; and Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon.

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:

Updated 8 March 2022

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: NYS Guidelines of 2 March 2022, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.


Special Information:

PGR will provide a respectful flag line for arrival of the family and guests.  The funeral Mass is scheduled to begin at 11:00 AM.  Following the Mass and dignified transfer, PGR will prepare for the 30-mile escort to Bath National Cemetery for the 2:00 PM interment with Military Honors. If you are unable to participate in the escort, please consider staging at Bath National Cemetery. See 2nd Stage info.  Please be prepared with a clean 3x5 American or USAF flag, dress for the weather, and ensure your large flags are securely attached for the 30-mile escort.

Second Stage - Special Information:

Please stage outside the entrance to the cemetery, and follow the directions of RC Bob Wheeler for establishing a flag line at the temporary ceremonial shelter. Please be prepared with a clean 3x5 American or US Army flag, and dress for the weather.
