About the Mission:
The family of Cold War veteran Clayton J. "Butch" Baumann, Jr. has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in honoring his life and service. Mr. Baumann of Derby, NY passed away on 1 March 2024.
Mr. Baumann served our nation for 4 years on active duty in the US Marine Corps from 1959-1963, with a Marine MOS of 1371-Combat Engineer. He was assigned to 2nd Bridge Company, Fleet Marine Force at Camp Lejeune, NC, and he had 17 months of foreign service (location TBD.) Mr. Baumann was honorably discharged from active duty on 11 January 1963 with the rank of Corporal (E-4), and he earned the following awards: USMC Good Conduct Medal; National Defense Service Medal; Rifle Marksman Qualification Badge

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.
Special Information:
PGR will provide a respectful flag line during the 2nd half of calling hours from 5:00-7:00 PM. The funeral service w/Military Honors is scheduled for 7:00 PM. There is no escort or cemetery involved in this Mission.
Please be prepared with a clean American or USMC flag, and dress for the weather. Thank you for devoting your time to help honor the US Marine Corps service of Clayton J. "Butch" Baumann, Jr., and to support his loving family.
