About the Mission:

The family of Vietnam War Veteran Bryan Patrick Scully has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in honoring his life and service. Mr. Sully, formerly of Hamburg, NY, passed away in Georgia on 27 February 2023.

Mr. Scully served our nation for almost 2 years on active duty in the US Army Signal Corps from 1965-1967, with an Army MOS of 05C20-Radio Teletype Operator. He served a 12-month deployment to South Vietnam, assigned to Able Company, 54th Signal Battalion. Mr. Scully was honorably discharged from active duty on 12 January 1967 at Fort Lewis, WA with the rank of Specialist Four (E-4), and he earned the following awards: Army Meritorious Unit Commendation; Army Good Conduct Medal; National Defense Service Medal; Vietnam Service Medal; Republic of Vietnam Cross of Gallantry w/Palm; and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.

Special Information:

This is a graveside service only, no escort involved.  PGR will provide a respectful flag line for arrival of the family and friends. The service is scheduled to begin at 10:30 AM, including Military Honors.  Please be prepared with a clean 3x5 American or US Army flag, and dress for the weather.
