About the Mission:
The family of retired US Army Veteran Bobby E. Scott has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in honoring his extraordinary military career. Mr. Scott of Olean, NY passed away on 20 November 2022. Mr. Scott was a veteran of both the Korean War and Vietnam War.
Mr. Scott began his military career at the young age of 16 when he enlisted in the US Navy and served for 3 years. He was attached to a Marine Corps unit deployed to Korea. In 1956 Mr. Scott enlisted in the US Army, serving active duty until his retirement in 1972 with a total military active duty service of over 20 years, and a total of 7 years of foreign service. In the Army, Mr. Scott served as a helicopter pilot with thousands of hours flying, including many combat flights in the Vietnam War. He had deployments to Vietnam from1964-1965 and 1967-1968. Mr. Scott was honorably retired on 31 July 1972 with the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 3 (CW3), and he earned the following awards: Distinguished Flying Cross Medal w/1 Oak Leaf Cluster (2 Awards); Air Medal w/Numeral "31"; Navy Good Conduct Medal; Army Good Conduct Medal w/Bronze 2-Knot device (2 Awards); Navy China Service Medal; National Defense Service Medal w/1 Service Star (2 Awards); Korean Service Medal w/2 Bronze Campaign Stars (3 Awards); United Nations Service Medal (Korea); Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Vietnam & Korea); Vietnam Service Medal w/1 Campaign Star (2 Awards); 2 Army Oversea Bars; Army Aviator Badge; Vietnamese Distinguished Flying Cross Medal w/Silver Star; Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross Medal w/1 Service Star (2 Awards); and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.

Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.
Special Information:
PGR will provide a respectful flag line for arrival of the family and friends. The funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 AM. Following the service and dignified transfer, PGR will provide the 1-1/2 mile escort to Mt. View Cemetery, South Union Street, Olean, NY 14760 for interment with Military Honors.
