About the Mission:

The family of Bernard J. Pitass has requested Patriot Guard Riders' participation in his military honors funeral services. Mr. Pitass passed 7 January 2025 at age 78 with his family at his side.

Mr. Pitass entered the Army on 19 January 1966, serving his nation for 22 months on active duty with a 17 month tour of duty in Germany with the 3rd Infantry Division, 76th Artillery as Field Artillery Intel Assistant (MOS-13E20). Mr. Pitass was honorably discharged 6 December 1967 with reserve obligations completed 18 December 1972. He was awarded; National Defense Service Medal, European Occupation Medal and Expert Rifleman Badge (M-16).

After his military service, Mr. Pitass bacame a State Trooper for New York State and a Zone Sergeant for Troop "T" as supervisor of state wide Thruway Operations until his retirement in 2003.
