About the Mission: | Patriot Guard Riders has been requested to stand in honor of the life and service of Austin James Dean Shaffer of Randolph, NY, who passed away unexpectedly at the much too young age of 23. Mr. Shaffer served our nation for 2 years on active duty in the US Army from 2017-2020, with an Army MOS of 92R1P - Parachute Rigger. He served with the 528th Combat Support Battalion, Fort Bragg, NC, and he was discharged under honorable conditions on 2 January 2020 with the rank of Private. Mr. Shaffer earned the following awards: National Defense Service Medal; Global War on Terrorism Service Medal; Army Service Ribbon; Army Parachutist Badge; Army Parachute Rigger Badge. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters. |
Special Information: | PGR will provide a respectful flag line for arrival of the family and guests. The funeral service is scheduled to begin at 11:00 AM. Following the service and dignified transfer, PGR will provide an escort to Myrtle Cemetery, 2952 US-62 (Clark's Corners), Kennedy, NY 14747, Kennedy, NY for burial with Military Honors.
