About the Mission:
The family of Arnold W. Read has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in honoring his service to America and celebrating his life. Mr. Read passed away 20 June 2024 at the age of 96 years.
Mr. Read is a World War II veteran who served in the US Marine Corps for thirteen months, 1945 - 1946, attaining the rank of Private First Class (PFC, E-2), with an MOS of 819, Commissary Man (Quartermaster). For his service, Private First Class Read earned: World War II Victory Medal, US Marine Corps Rifle Sharpshooter Qualification Badge and the Honorable Discharge Pin (Ruptured Duck).
Mr. Read is the father of Beth Read, Patriot Guard Riders member and a Mission Moderator for Patriot Guard Riders of NY.

Special Information:
PGR members will form a flag line at the church in anticipation of the arrival of the family and Mr. Read's cremains, expected between 9:30am and 9:45am. Members will perform a dignified transfer either upon arrival of the cremains, or immediately prior to services, and will continue the flag line for the arrival of mourners until the services begin, expected at 10:00am. Following services, PGR members will perform a dignified transfer and escort the procession to:

If you are unable to participate at the church, please consider joining up at the cemetery; the gravesite location at Holy Sepulchre is South 6. At the gravesite, PGR members will perform a dignified transfer, render honors with the military honor guard, and render a final salute.
Please come prepared with a clean US or US Marine Corps flag and ensure your vehicle flags are firmly attached for the escort. Dress for the weather, current forecast is for temperatures in the 80s and a small chance of rain.
