7th Annual Ride For the Memories
US Army SP4 Ryan P Jayne Memorial Bike Ride

About the Mission:

The founders of the Ride for the Memories event have once again requested that Patriot Guard Riders lead their annual motorcycle ride in remembrance of US Army SP4 Ryan P. Jayne and 2 of his fellow soldiers who were killed in action on 3 March 2012 in Parikia Province, Afghanistan.

The ride this year has 2 staging locations; 1st staging area is at Page Transportation Corporate Headquarters, Weedsport, New York; the 2nd staging area is at the Dryden American Legion/Dryden Veterans Memorial Home in Dryden. The Ride will end up in Cato, New York at the Cross Lake Marina and Inn with a huge BBQ starting around 2 pm,  and an Awards Ceremony honoring members of all 6 military branches and our First Responders. Registration is $20.00 for rider and $15.00 for passenger, with all proceeds being donated to the Gold Star Family College Scholarship Fund.  Click here to view the event flyer

We will once again pass along a motorcycle left to us by past PGR Member Mike Homer as instructed in his dying declaration that I pass it on to someone worthy of it and will use it to carry on his legacy of honoring our Veterans and First Responders. Mike's bike will be passed on to a couple in our own PGR Family with Mike's sister and one of his sons in attendance to make the presentation. Michelle Ladd and National Veterans Resources, Norm Stitzel and Veterans Search And Rescue (VETSAR) as well as our own PGR Region 2 Ride Captain, Dave Lippa, with Stop the 22 are just a few of the Veteran Support Organizations that are going to be on hand with us.

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:

Updated 8 March 2022

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: NYS Guidelines of 2 March 2022, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.

1st group will be leaving Weedsport and will meet 2nd group in Dryden at approximately 11:30 AM
