About the Mission:
The family of Staff Sergeant (SSgt) Kory Wade has requested PGR to honor Kory's service to America and celebrate his life at service. Sergeant Wade, 33, passed away suddenly on Saturday, June 17, 2023.
Sergeant Wade joined the Air Force in 2008 and worked at Osan and Gunsan Air Force bases in South Korea. He returned to the United States in April, 2020 serving in the 48th Rescue Squadron (Pararescue), 563rd Rescue Group, 355 Wing, Air Forces Southern, based in Davis Monthan Air Force Base, Tucson, AZ. For his service, he was awarded: Air and Space Commendation Medal, Air and Space Achievement Medal, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Air and Space Outstanding Unit Award, National Defense Service Ribbon, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and U.S. Air Force Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Military Education Graduate Ribbon.

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.
Special Information:
There are numerous stages to this mission and it will be a long day. Please come honor Staff Sergeant Kory Wade for whatever time you can, even if you cannot spend the day. PGR members will perform a dignified transfer from the funeral home to coach. PGR members will then escort Sergeant Wade from the funeral home to: Red Jacket Middle School 1506 State Rte 21 Shortsville, NY. The procession is expected to leave the funeral home at 9:00am with a police escort.
Once at Red Jacket Middle School, PGR members will stand a flag line for the arrival of family and mourners. PGR members will perform a dignified transfer from the coach to the school building at approximately 10:00am. Following the dignified transfer, PGR members will continue the flag line through calling hours. Family is expected to arrive at the school at 10:15am. Calling hours are expected to go from 11:00am-12:30pm. Services are to begin at the school at 12:30pm. PGR members will end the flag line at the start of services and prepare to render honors with the military honor guard.
Please be prepared with a clean 3x5 American or US Air Force flag, and dress for the weather. Thank you for devoting your time to help honor the military service of Kory Wade, and to support his loving family.

Second Stage - Special Information:
At present, it is expected that military honors will occur at the end of service, approximately 1:15pm. PGR members will render honors with the military. Following the services, PGR members will perform a dignified transfer in preparation for the procession to NY State Veterans Cemetery - Finger Lakes (formerly Sampson Veterans' Cemetery). PGR members will escort the family to the cemetery, leaving the school at approximately 1:45pm. A police escort is expected for this procession. Services at the cemetery are private with only family members and select others attending.

Third Stage - Special Information:
PGR members; if you go directly to the cemetery, please park to be out of way, over by the administration building. PGR members will form a flag line for the arrival of the cortege at the Committal Shelter. The family has invited PGR members to participate in the services at the Committal Shelter which are expected to begin at 3:00pm. We will stand a flag line through the services and may render a final salute at graveside as a group following services. Please be prepared with a clean 3x5 American or US Air Force flag, and dress for the weather.
