About the Mission:

The family of 1LT Nicholas P. Manganiello has made the request for Patriot Guard Riders to stand and honor this true American.  Lieutenant Manganiello, 25, formerly of Northport, NY, died tragically on December 11, 2022. Lieutenant Manganiello joined the US Marine Corps in 2019, and has been going to the Naval Aviation School to get his wings to pilot Osprey aircraft. He finished school earlier this month and was set to get his wings officially in January. Unfortunately he was taken from the Marine Corps and his family in a tragic accident. He will still be awarded his wings, now, so that he may be honored as a pilot as he is brought to rest.

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.

Special Information:

The bank is at the entrance to McArthur Airport. Meet RC Byrne in the rear parking area. Members will then respond to location for arrival of Lieutenant Manganiello.  There will be LEO for this escort. This part is motorcycle-only escort.

Bring your flags for the dignified transfer to St. Philip Neri Church, 344 Main St., Northport, NY for a 10 am mass. After Mass, the procession will respond to Pinelawn Memorial Park in Farmingdale, NY for interment with full military honors.
