About the Mission:

This veteran, a member of the greatest generation, served his country from 2/19/1943 to 5/19/1946. He was awarded the American Theater Medal, Victory Medal, Asiatic Pacific Medal, European Theater Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, and Philippian Liberation Medal. He attained a rank of Gunners Mate 3rd class and served on three different ships during his service. Patriot Guard Riders had the honor of standing in honor of this veteran on March 25th 2022 when he was presented with a special quilt denoting his service. The daughter stated he had not stopped talking about PGR honoring him and she wishes PGR to bring him into the church service.

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.

Special Information:

After a dignified transfer, we will provide an escort to Trinity Lutheran Church, 716 Route 25A, Rocky Point for a 10:00 am mass. We will escort the casket into the church on the trolley as per family request.  After mass we will escort Mr. Shaw to Calverton.
