About the Mission:

The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited by the family of Gerard C. Broome to stand for and escort him to his final resting place amongst the heroes at Calverton National Cemetery. While in his time in the Army, Gerard served overseas in both Japan and Korea. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Specialist 4th Class.

After his military service, Gerard worked for Grumman Aerospace for 33 years as a high voltage electrician. In his 82 years on this land he surely left his mark. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, 3 children and 6 grand children. He was an avid fisherman and took everyone in the family on fishing trips. He also enjoyed woodworking and if he could build it you could be sure he wouldn't buy it.

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.

Special Information:

PGR members will stand a flag line during Visitation hours of 7:00-9:00 pm.  Please bring your own flags
