About the Mission:
The family of David J. Garvey has requested Patriot Guard Riders to participate in David's funeral service on Monday Oct 10. David served 2 years in the US Army from April 1966 to February 1968 with 1 year in Vietnam and in the Army Reserves until April 1972. PFC Garvey served in the 1st US Army C Battery, 3rd Field Artillery Regiment. His specialty was (82C20) Artillery Surveyor. He was awarded the National Defense Services Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal (w/60 Device), Marksman Badge (Rifle).

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: NYS Guidelines of 2 March 2022, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.
Special Information:
We will stand a flag line for the arrival of family and friends at the funeral home. Following the dignified transfer, we will provide an escort to the St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction, NY for a Mass. Following Mass and dignified transfer, we will provide an escort to the St. Denis Cemetery, 604 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction, NY where Military Honors will be rendered.
