About the Mission:

The family of Richard G. Bolio III has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral services. Richard, 59, of Albany, NY, passed peacefully on August 3, 2022, at Albany Medical Center.

Richard graduated from Hazen Union High School in Hardwick, Vermont. He was a US Army veteran of Desert Storm, serving with the 131st Combat Engineers Battalion, retiring from the Army National Guard as 1st sergeant (E-8).

Following his military service, Richard worked as a truck driver, a cook at the Capital City Rescue Mission and later as a transportation aid at the Center for Disability Services. At the time of his passing, Richard was employed at Albany Medical Center in Environmental Services. Richard was also a proud PGR member since 2015 and regularly attended Honor Flight missions with his daughter Angelina, also a PGR member.

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:

Updated 8 March 2022

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: NYS Guidelines of 2 March 2022, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.


Special Information:

UPDATED

Riders will stage at the funeral home to provide an escort to the church for visitation and funeral services.  Estimated KSU between 3:00 - 3:15 pm.  Upon arrival at church, members will form a flag line for the dignified transfer.  Once completed, this stage of the mission is concluded.

Second Stage - Special Information:

UPDATED

Members will stage at the church with a flag line for the arrival of family and guests.  Visitation hour conducted between 5:00 - 6:00 pm, followed by military honors and plaque presentation. A celebration of life will follow from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm. PGR members may attend if they wish.
