US Navy - Retired

Multi-City, NY - 12/07/2022

Mission applies to the following Region(s):

Region 4, Region 5

About the Mission:

The family of Commander Craig Thomas Weber, US Navy (Retired), has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral services. Commander Weber, 68, of Glenville passed peacefully on December 2, 2022.

Born in Calumet Park, Illinois, Craig was a 1972 graduate of Dwight D Eisenhower High School in Blue Island, IL. From an early age, Craig was a true American patriot. A 1976 graduate of the United States Naval Academy, Craig was at the top of his class and received honors during his extensive study of engineering, mathematics, marine sciences and government.   Craig also played on the Naval Academy hockey team— he was a talented goalie!

He entered the United States Navy immediately after his higher education in 1976, and proudly served active duty until 1984. He later returned to serve his country in the United States Reserves. The military was a huge part of Craig’s life.  He fondly remembers the experiences he was given during this period in his life and often told stories of his life living on the military submarines.

Craig was a brilliant man.  He worked as an engineer his entire life. In the late 1980s, his family moved to Burnt Hills, New York where he began his long career at Knolls Atomic Power Lab. Throughout his life, Craig stayed active. He continued playing hockey on recreational teams, traveling to National Parks, and was an avid hiker, who achieved Mount Kilimanjaro. He also was a parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church in Glenville, NY.

Portions of the above narrative are contained in Commander Weber's obituary, available for viewing online by clicking here
