About the Mission:

Patriot Guard Riders has been requested by the family of Anthony "Opa" Ferro to participate in his military honors funeral services. Anthony, age 81, peacefully passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2023 at his home in Wilton surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, Anthony served in the United States Army as a Sharpshooter during the Vietnam War Era.  He later served his community as a New York City Police Officer, Senior Firearms Instructor, and often testified as a firearms Subject Matter Expert.  He raised his family in Merrick, NY and moved to Wilton, NY in 2007 where he enjoyed his retirement years with his family.  He was an expert Marksman and enjoyed competing at the local rod and gun club.

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.

Special Information:

We will stage for dignified transfer, and then escort to Saratoga National Cemetery for a 1 pm service.
