Mission applies to the following Region(s):

Region 4, Region 5

About the Mission:

We have been requested by Renee Farley to participate in the dedication ceremony for a newly refurbished home dedication ceremony for an Air Force Veteran.

On Sun., June 26th at 1 p.m. Malta Veteran Appreciation Program (MVAP) will welcome a local U.S. Military Air Force Veteran and her family into their newly remodeled 1,200 sq. ft. home at The Solomon Organization’s Malta Gardens residential community. The Community is invited to attend.

U.S. Congressman Paul Tonko, Senator James Tedisco and Assemblywoman Carrie Woerner are scheduled to attend the event at 9 Lakeside Ave. that will also celebrate and thank all the individuals, veterans, and local businesses who donated their time and resources to provide Christina and her family with a safe and affordable living option.

Christina was a medic in the United States Air Force for nine years as Staff Sergeant. She was stationed at Luke Air Force base for five years and Langley Air Force Base for three years before being deployed to Al Udeid, Qatar. Christina will be moving in with her child.

The Malta Veterans Appreciation Program (MVAP) is a local organization created to provide charitable support services to local veterans in Malta & Saratoga County. Under its leadership, Christina’s home was reconstructed. Hundreds of volunteers including local Contractors such as IBEW 236, Carpenters Local 291, American Legions, VFW’s, Elks, Pompa Bros., X-Treme Construction and a slew of other organizations & businesses showed up. Curtis Lumber donated thousands of dollars in donated materials as well as Fossett Paving and County Waste to name a few. Other Veterans and neighbors currently living in Malta Gardens through also worked relentlessly to make this dream a reality.
