About the Mission:

The family of William James Micheli has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral services. William, 93, passed on Sunday, January 29, 2023.

Born in Schenectady, NY, Bill entered the United States Army during the Korean War, on 14 November 1951. He served on active duty for 1 year and 9 months, including 10 months assigned to Headquarters & Headquarters Company, 31st Infantry Division in South Korea. He was honorably discharged on 13 August 1953 at the rank of Corporal (E-4), and for his service, was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal w/2 Bronze Service Stars and the United Nations Service Medal.

A member of the Sheet Metal Workers International Association Local Union No. 83 and a skilled welder, Bill balanced working hard with good times spent fishing, camping, and horseback riding. For several decades, he was a member of the Union College Alumni bowling league, and then continued bowling as a senior superstar up until just a few years ago. As a member of St. Luke's Roman Catholic Church choir for twenty years, Bill shared his faith and his wonderful singing voice with others. He also sang with the Electric City Chorus for five years.

Portions of the above narrative are contained in Bill's obituary, available for viewing online by clicking here
