About the Mission:

The family of Robert Blaine Stealey has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral services. Robert, 72, of Guilderland, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 15, 2023.

Born in Troy, NY, Robert enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on 20 February 1969 at the age of 18. He was trained as a Motor Vehicle Operator (Speciality Code 3531) and spent two years in the Corps, including a one year tour of duty in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged on 19 February 1971 at the rank of Corporal (E-4), and for his service, was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal w/1 Bronze Star, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal w/60 Device and a Marksman Badge - Rifle.

Robert embodied the motto “Semper Fidelis” for all the years following his formal service with the Corps. Never without his Marine Corps apparel, marching alongside his brothers in arms at every parade, organizing annual fund raising golf tournaments to benefit the Marine Corps League, and standing tall every holiday season collecting Toys for Tots. His service and devotion was recognized by his fellow Marines when they bestowed upon him the great honor of naming him Commandant of the Marine Corps League.

Portions of the above narrative are contained in Robert's obituary, available for viewing online by clicking here
