About the Mission:

The family of Martin J. "Duke" Brennan has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral services. Martin, 75, passed on August 1, 2022.

Born on Long Island, Duke later moved to and was raised in Albany. He graduated from Vincentian Institute and completed course work at SUNY Albany before entering the US Army on 6 January 1967. He was trained as a General Vehicle Mechanic (MOS 63C20) and served a tour of duty in Vietnam with the 256th RR Company (ABN) at Da Nang Airbase. Duke was honorably discharged at the rank of Specialist 5th Class (E-5) and for his service was awarded the Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and Vietnam Campaign Medal w/60 device.

Duke later worked as a dispatcher for Verizon, retiring in 2009.

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: NYS Guidelines of 2 March 2022, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.

Special Information:

Staging at the funeral home with a flag line during private viewing hour, 10:00 am - 11:00 am, followed by an escort to St. Pius X Church, 23 Crumitie Rd, Loudonville, NY 12211 for an 11:30 am service. Upon conclusion, members will provide an escort to Saratoga National Cemetery for interment with full military honors.
