About the Mission:

Patriot Guard Riders has been requested by the family of Kenneth D. VanWagenen to participate in his military honors funeral services. Kenneth, 64,  of Conway, South Carolina, passed away suddenly on October 27, 2022.

Originally from Rensselaer, NY, Kenneth entered the US Army on 24 October 1983.  He served as both a Chemical Operations Specialist (MOS 74D4H) and a Human Resources Specialist (MOS 42A40).  He spent 6 years and 6 months on overseas assignments, including Iraq, Kuwait and Afghanistan.  He retired after 21 years and 5 months at the rank of Sergeant First Class (E-7), and for his service, was awarded;the Meritorious Service Medal (2nd Award), Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal (8th Award), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal (4th Award), Meritorious Unit Commendation, Army Good Conduct Medal (7th Award), National Defense Service Medal (2nd Award), Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal w/3 Bronze Service Stars, Noncommissioned Officer's Professional Development Ribbon w/ Numeral 3, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (5th Award), Kuwait Liberation Medal and the Kuwait Liberation Medal (K).

Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.

Interment with military honors scheduled for 12:00 pm.  Please stage quietly, following updated staging guidelines.
