About the Mission:

The family of John A. "Jack" Garavelli, Sr. has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his funeral services. John, 72, of Colonie, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at his residence.

Born in Albany, Jack enlisted in the US Marine Corp 29 December 1967. He served as an Infantry Assaultman (MOS 0351), and was assigned to Company "K", 3rd Batallion, 7th Marines, 1st Marine Division in Vietnam. Discharged on 26 August 1970, this band of brothers and their families have reunited on many occasions to celebrate their lifelong relationships and loyalty to one another.

Jack was a driver with Teamsters Local 294 in Albany for many years. He was a member of the Joseph E. Zaloga American Legion Post. He was an avid fisherman and loved to share his passion with his family. He enjoyed boxing, cooking, gardening and camping.

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.


Special Information:

Staging at the church with a flag line for the arrival of family and guests. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 am, followed by an escort and interment at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, 1389 Central Ave, Colonie, NY 12205.
