About the Mission:

Members of Patriot Guard Riders have been asked to participate in the Seventh Annual Gold Star Mothers Day Wreath Laying Ceremony at White Haven Memorial Park.

National Gold Star Mother's Day, also known as National Gold Star Mother's and Family's Day, is observed annually on the last Sunday in September. National Gold Star Mother's Day was created to recognize and honor those that have lost their son or daughter while serving our country in the United States Armed Forces.  A gold star symbolizes a family member who died in the line of duty while serving the United States Armed Forces.

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:

Updated 8 March 2022

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: NYS Guidelines of 2 March 2022, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.

Special Information:

PGR will stage at the front of the cemetery at 1:15pm. KSU at 1:30pm to process back to the memorial site and parking. By 1:45pm, PGR Members will be in place with a flag line for the arrival of guests. Two members will be selected to carry an Honor and Remember flag and a Medal of Honor flag in place of their US flag. The two flags will be provided and will be placed on the flagpole of each PGR Member. Services are expected to commence at 2:00pm and the PGR will follow others in saluting during the services.
I expect services to last approximately 45 minutes.  Please be prepared with a clean 3x5 American flag, and dress for the weather.
