About the Mission:

The family of retired U.S. Army Combat Veteran Juan Ramon Ubiles II has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in honoring his life and extraordinary military service. Mr. Ubiles passed away on 13 May 2023. He was a Veteran of both the Persian Gulf War and the Global War on Terrorism.

Mr. Ubiles served our nation for a total of 20 years on active duty in the U.S. Army Infantry during 2 periods: 1990-1998, and 2000-2012. His Army MOS were 11M20-FV Infantryman and 11B30-Infantryman. Mr. Ubiles had 25 months of foreign service, including multiple deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan.

Mr. Ubiles received his honorable retirement on 31 December 2012 with the rank of Staff Sergeant (E-6.) During his 20 years of service, he earned the following awards: Meritorious Service Medal (2 Awards); Army Commendation Medal (7 Awards); Army Achievement Medal (4 Awards); Meritorious Unit Commendation Ribbon; Army Superior Unit Award Ribbon; Army Good Conduct Medal (6 Awards); National Defense Service Medal (2 Awards); Afghanistan Campaign Medal (2 Awards); Iraq Campaign Medal (3 Awards); Global War on Terrorism Service Medal; Korean Defense Service Medal; NCO Professional Development Ribbon (2 Awards); Army Service Ribbon; Army Overseas Service Ribbon (2 Awards); Combat Infantryman Badge; Expert Infantryman Badge; and Air Assault Badge.

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.


Special Information:

PGR will stand a respectful flag line during the 2nd half of calling hours from 3:30-5:00 PM. The funeral service with Military Honors is scheduled to begin at 5:00 PM.
There is no escort or cemetery involved in this Mission.

Please arrive with a clean 3x5 American or US Army flag, and dress for the weather.

Retired US Army Combat Veteran Juan Ramon Ubiles II served our nation in ways most of us cannot fathom. Please do your best to help honor his extraordinary service, and to support his loving and grieving family.
