About the Mission:

The family of Terry C. Cycon of West Seneca, NY has requested PGRNY to participate in honoring his life and service. Mr. Cycon passed away on 24 August 2022.

UPDATED

In addition to the 3 years of US Army active duty from 1968-1971, Mr. Cycon served in the Army National Guard and Army Reserve from 1983-2001, compiling a total of 24 years of military service to our nation.  He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 127th Armor Regiment, 42nd Infantry Division (Mechanized) in Buffalo, NY.  His Primary MOS during this period was 54B30-NBC NCO, and his Secondary MOS was 96B30-Intelligence Analyst.

Mr. Cycon received his honorable retirement from the US Army Reserve on 17 May 2001 with the rank of Staff Sergeant, and he earned the following awards:

Air Medal (2 Awards) ~~ Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal (4 Awards), National Defense Service Medal (2 Awards), Vietnam Service Medal (4 Awards) ~~ Humanitarian Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal ~~ Army Service Ribbon, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (2 Awards), Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Army Aircraft Crewman Badge ~~ Army Pistol Marksman Badge, Army Rifle & Automatic Rifle Sharpshooter Badges, Philippine Presidential Unit Citation Ribbon ~~ Cold War Service Medal.

My Cycon was a Life Member of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV.)

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: NYS Guidelines of 2 March 2022, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.


Special Information:

PGR will provide a respectful flag line for the arrival of the family and guests.  The funeral service is scheduled to begin at 11:00 AM.  Following the service and dignified transfer, PGR will provide an escort to St. Matthew's Cemetery,180 French Road, West Seneca, NY 14224 for interment with Military Honors.  Please arrive with a clean 3x5 American or US Army flag, dress for the weather, and ensure your large flags are securely attached.
