About the Mission:

The family of Ronald R. Zielinski has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in honoring his life and service. Mr. Zielinski, of Buffalo, NY passed away on 2 February 2023.

Mr. Zielinski served a total of 5 years of active duty in the US Air Force from 1961-1965 and 1968-1969, with an Air Force Specialty of 46250-Weapons Mechanic.  His foreign duty included 3 years in Germany assigned to the 526th Fighter Interceptor Squadron, 86th Air Division; and 12 months in South Vietnam assigned to the 431st Munitions Maintenance Squadron, Pacific Air Force. Mr. Zielinski was honorably discharged from active duty on 11 June 1969 with the rank of Staff Sergeant (E-5.)

Mr. Zielinski went on to serve for over 11 years from 1967-1978 as a Missile Systems Maintenance Technician with the Air National Guard's 107th Consolidated Aircraft Maintenance Squadron (CAM), 107th Fighter Group at Niagara Falls, NY. He attained the rank of Master Sergeant (E-7), and for his over 16 total years of service to our nation, Mr. Zielinski earned the following awards: Air Force Outstanding Unit Award Ribbon; Air Force Good Conduct Medal; National Defense Service Medal; Vietnam Service Medal; Air Force Longevity Service Award Ribbon w/2 Oak Leaf Clusters; Armed Forces Reserve Medal; Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal; and the Cold War Service Medal.

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.


Special Information:

PGR will provide a respectful flag line for arrival of the family and friends.  The funeral service with military honors at the mausoleum is scheduled to begin at 12:00 PM. Please arrive with a clean 3x5 American or USAF flag, and dress for the weather.
