About the Mission:

The family of Mr. Robert W. Kellogg has requested Patriot Guard Riders to come help honor his service to America. Mr. Kellogg passed on December 08, 2022 at the age of 91.

Mr. Kellogg was a US Navy, Korean War Veteran. He served for three years and nine months from 1952-1954. Of that time, he served three years, six months of foreign/sea service. Mr. Kellogg served on the USS Union (APA-106), a Tolland-class attack cargo ship, and then the USS Henrico (APA-45), a Bayfield-class attack transport, transporting troops, prisoners, and equipment to and from the Korean War Zone.

Mr. Kellogg's rating was Machinist's Mate, Second Class with a specialty of auxiliary equipment maintenance and repair.  Mr. Kellogg earned: US Navy Combat Action Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal w/ Five Service Stars, United Nations Service Medal - Korea and the Cold War Service Medal.

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:

Updated 8 March 2022

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.


Special Information:

9:15 am - PGR Members will form a flag line for the arrival of the family at the funeral home (expected about 9:30am).  PGR Members will stand for calling hours from 10:00am - 12:00pm.  Services will immediately follow calling hours.  Following the services, PGR Members will escort the family to the cemetery for services there (See second stage information below).

Please arrive with a clean 3x5 US or Navy flag. Bring your own water and dress for outside weather. The current forecast for the 17th is temperatures in the mid-30s and possible snow showers.

December 17 is Wreaths Across America Day with many activities involving PGR members. Please spare what time you can either for calling hours or graveside services to honor Mr. Kellogg's service to America and to support his grieving family.

Second Stage - Special Information:

PGR Members, please form a respectful flag line for the arrival of the cortege from the funeral home.  The procession is expected to arrive at the cemetery between 12:45 pm and 1:00 pm.  PGR members will perform a dignified transfer and render honors with the military honor guard during graveside services

The cemetery is a single lane with a loop through the cemetery. Please park on the north side of Cemetery Road prior to the start of the loop to leave room for the cortege to come and go.
