About the Mission:
The family of Robert C. Hy, formerly of Tonawanda, NY and Alden, NY, has requested PGRNY to participate in honoring his life and service. Mr. Hy passed away on 9 October 2021 at his home in Florida.
Mr. Hy served our nation for 3 years on active duty in the US Army Ordnance Corps from 1960-1963, with an Army MOS of 631.10-Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic. He was assigned to the Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 87th Infantry, Third US Army, and he had 2 years of foreign service with the US Army Caribbean Command (USARCARIB) at Fort Sherman, Panama. Mr. Hy was honorably discharged from active duty on 31 July 1963 at Fort Benning, Georgia with the rank of Specialist 4th Class (E-4), and he was honorably discharged from Standby Reserve on 30 June 1966. Mr. Hy earned the National Defense Service Medal, Army Marksman Badges for Rifle and Carbine, Army Driver Badge, and Cold War Service Medal.
Until he moved permanently to Florida, Mr. Hy was a dedicated and passionate member of Patriot Guard Riders of NY, Region-1.

Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.
PGR will stand by with a respectful flag line for the arrival of the family and Mr. Hy. KSU at 1:35 for the escort to WNY National Cemetery, 1254 Indian Falls Road, Corfu, NY 14036 for the 2:00 PM interment with Military Honors. Please be prepared with a clean 3x5 American, US Army, or PGR flag; dress for the weather; and ensure your large flags are securely attached.
