About the Mission:

Patriot Guard Riders of NY has been requested to stand in honor of the life and service of Peter J. Pittner, Jr., who passed away on 17 July 2022.

Mr. Pittner served our nation for almost 2 years on active duty in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1968-1970, with a MOS of 3516-Automobile Mechanic. He was assigned to Company E, 2nd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, Fleet Marine Force, Camp Lejeune, NC.   Mr. Pittner served 11 months of foreign service in South Vietnam, and he was honorably discharged from active duty on 10 March 1970 with the rank of Lance Corporal (E-3.)   Mr. Pittner earned the following awards: Marine Corps Combat Action Ribbon; National Defense Service Medal; Vietnam Service Medal w/1 Bronze Service Star; Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal; and M-14 Rifle Marksmanship Qualification Badge.

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: NYS Guidelines of 2 March 2022, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.


Special Information:

PGR will provide a respectful flag line for the arrival of the family and guests.  The Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM.  Following Mass and the dignified transfer, PGR will provide an escort to Saint Matthews Cemetery, 180 Old French Road West Seneca, NY 14224 for interment with Military Honors.  Please arrive with a clean 3x5 American or USMC flag, dress for the weather, and ensure your large flags are securely attached.
