About the Mission:

On July 21, 2022, Rochester Police Officer Anthony "Tony" Patrick Mazurkiewicz, 54, a 29-year veteran of the Rochester Police Department died tragically while on patrol in a northeast Rochester neighborhood.

Officer Mazurkiewicz, a resident of Fairport, was born in Amsterdam, NY and was a graduate of Avon High School and SUNY Brockport College. He then went on to work for the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department before transferring to the Rochester Police Department in 1993. He proudly served in RPD and was eagerly awaiting spending his retirement fishing, traveling, relaxing, and spending a lot of time with his family.

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:

Updated 8 March 2022

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: NYS Guidelines of 2 March 2022, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.

For those who are going to be there for the start of calling hours, we will meet at the Wegmans parking lot to ride in together to Keenan Funeral Home. KICK STANDS UP 11:50 am If you arrive at Wegmans early, please find the most open lot possible and one that is away from stores.

Due to the length of calling hours, I will be rotating Ride Captains in charge.  The change in rotation will be announced on site. If you will not be there for the initial ride in, arrive when you can going directly to Keenan Funeral home. You must have your PGR arm band on or a flag bike for the Police to ID you as PGR for parking.

Second Stage - Special Information:

UPDATED
Due to road closures around Blue Cross Arena, we need to ride in together for the funeral. The service does not start until 1:00 pm but they requested we be there by 10:45 am with kick stands up from Frontier Field at 10:35 am.  I cannot guarantee your participation if you arrive late.  Please dress for the weather as it expected to be in the upper 80's.  All LEO will be in dress uniform.  Please dress in your best riding gear.
