About the Mission:

The family of US Marine Corps Veteran Maxine C. Schening has requested Patriot Guard Riders presence at her interment with military honors. Maxine passed on Feb 25, 2023 at the age of 58 yrs.

Born in Medina, Maxine graduated from Medina High School in the class of 1983. She went on to serve in the United States Marine Corps from 1984-1988, where she was an Aircraft Hydraulic/Pneumatic Mechanic.   She was honorably discharged at the rank of Corporal (E-4), and for her service, was awarded the Meritorious Service Mast (2nd Award), Good Conduct Medal and Sea Service Deployment Ribbon.

Maxine loved to travel and enjoyed her time stationed abroad in Iwakuni, Japan. Following her service, she continued to hold a strong sense of patriotism and was involved in various veteran’s organizations including serving as the County Commander of the American Legion and as Vice President of the Woman Marines Association, WNY Chapter. She was a member of Butts-Clark Post #204, American Legion, and volunteered on both the local honor guard and on the WNY National Cemetery Honor Guard affording military honors at funerals for veterans.

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.


Special Information:

Please arrive on time to form an honorable flag line for the arrival of our hero's family and guests for interment with Military Honors. Please have an American or US Marine Corps Flag and dress for the weather. There are two missions at approximately the same time in Region One so, please attend one of these missions to honor the life and service to our country by two heroes.  Honors will be at 10:30 am.
