About the Mission:

Patriot Guard Riders of NY has been requested to stand in honor of the life and service of Louis S. Tomaka, Jr., who passed away on 17 December 2020.

Mr. Tomaka, Jr. served our nation for 2 years on active duty in the US Army Infantry from 1957-1959, with an Army MOS of 111.10-Light Weapons Infantryman. He had 18 months of foreign duty (location TBD), and he was honorably discharged from active duty on 9 September 1959 with the rank of Private First Class (E-3.) He earned the Army Good Conduct Medal and Cold War Service Medal.

The family chose to not publish an obituary.

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:

Updated 8 March 2022

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: NYS Guidelines of 2 March 2022, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.


Special Information:

PGR will provide a respectful flag line for the arrival of the family and friends.  The Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM. Following the Mass and dignified transfer, PGR will provide an escort to St. Matthews Cemetery, French Road, West Seneca, NY for interment with Military Honors.

Please arrive with a clean 3x5 American or US Army flag, dress for the weather, and ensure your large flags are securely attached.
