About the Mission:

Patriot Guard Riders of NY has been requested to stand in honor of the life and service of Korean War Veteran Jan Stachowicz, who passed away 24 June 2022.

Mr. Stachowicz served our nation for 2 years on active duty in the US Marine Corps from 1951-1953, with an MOS of 0231-Intelligence Specialist. He served 12 months in Korea (unit TBD), and he was honorably discharged from active duty on 7 December 1953 with the rank of Corporal (E-3.).   Mr. Stachowicz earned the following awards: Bronze Star Medal w/Combat "V"; Navy/Marine Combat Action Ribbon; National Defense Service Medal; Korean Service Medal w/3 Bronze Campaign Stars; and United Nations Service Medal (Korea).

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: NYS Guidelines of 2 March 2022, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.

Special Information:

Patriot Guard Riders will stand with a respectful flag line for the arrival of the family and guests.  The funeral service is scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM.  Following the service and dignified transfer, PGR will provide an escort to St. Matthew's Cemetery, 180 French Road, West Seneca, NY 14224 for interment with Military Honors.

Please arrive with a clean 3x5 American or USMC flag, dress for the weather and ensure your large flags are securely attached for the escort.

PLEASE NOTE: Friday is a busy day in Region 1 with 3 Missions. Please do your best to support one of them.
