About the Mission:

Patriot Guard Riders of NY has been requested to stand in honor of the life and service of David J. Meisenburg of Wheatfield, NY, who tragically lost his life in a motor vehicle accident on 19 August 2022.

Mr. Meisenburg served our nation for 4 years on active duty in the US Navy from 1966-1970, with a naval rating of Engineman (EN.) He had 40 months of sea service, including duty aboard the USS Harder (SS-568), a Tang-class attack submarine. Mr. Meisenburg was honorably discharged from active duty on 19 March 1970 with the rank of Petty Officer 3rd Class (E-4), and he earned the following awards: National Defense Service Medal; Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Korea); Vietnam Service Medal w/1 Bronze Service Star; and the Cold War Service Medal.

Mr. Meisenburg was a former Niagara County Corrections Officer at the county jail, formerly served with the Air National Guard, and was a member of the Shawnee Fire Department.

An obituary has not yet been published however, a news article is available for viewing online regarding his accident.

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: NYS Guidelines of 2 March 2022, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.


Special Information:

PLEASE NOTE: The timing of this Mission is tentative at this point. Please stay alert for any updates.  PGR will provide a respectful flag line for arrival of the family, guests, and 1st Responders.  The Memorial Service is tentatively scheduled for 4:00 PM, followed by Military Honors.  Tentatively there is no escort or cemetery involved in this Mission.  Please be prepared with a clean 3x5 American or US Navy flag, and dress for the weather.

NOTE:  The family has requested a PGR escort from the funeral service to St James Lutheran Church, 2437 Niagara Rd., Niagara Falls, NY for the family meal and get together
