About the Mission:

Patriot Guard Riders of NY has been requested to stand in honor of the life and service of Alfred J. Koziol of Lancaster, NY, who passed away on 26 July 2022.

Mr. Koziol served 3-1/2 years in the Air National Guard in Niagara Falls, NY before serving 17 months of active duty in the US Air Force from 1968 - 1969, with an Air Force Specialty of 62250-Cook. He had 11-1/2 months of foreign duty in Vietnam, and he was honorably discharged from active duty on 11 June 1969. For his service to our nation, Mr. Koziol earned the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Cold War Service Medal.

Per the Charles Meyer Funeral Home obituary, Mr. Koziol retired from the Department of Defense where he worked as a Quality Assurance Specialist.

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:

Updated 8 March 2022

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: NYS Guidelines of 2 March 2022, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.


Special Information:

PGR will provide a respectful flag line for arrival of the family and guests.  The funeral service is scheduled for 9:30 AM.  Following the service and dignified transfer, PGR will provide an escort (approx. 12 miles) to the WNY National Cemetery,1254 Indian Falls Rd, Corfu, NY 14036 for the 11:00 AM Interment with Military Honors.

NOTE: If you are unable to participate in the escort portion of this mission, please consider providing a flag line at approx. 10:30 AM at the National Cemetery entrance for the arrival of the cortege, then proceed as normal to the Ceremony Shelter.  Click here for map to WNYNC

Please be prepared with a clean 3x5 American or USAF flag, dress for the weather, and ensure your large flags are securely attached.
