Please join me in congratulating PGRNY Region 4 member John Mercier on his promotion to Ride Captain. John has been a dedicated member since 2018, and has demonstrated his passion for the PGR mission by standing for our fallen heroes at every opportunity. A native of Whitehall, NY, John graduated from Whitehall High in 1968, Adirondack Community College in 1979, and Brockport State College in 1973. He worked 33 1/2 years with Amtrak in Rensselaer, NY in the track, bridge, and building maintenance department, retiring in 2010 as a supervisor. He and his wife Peggy have been married for almost 43 years and have two daughters. Welcome aboard, John!
