About the Mission:

The family of Leo Edward Madigan has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral services. Leo, 84, formerly of Tomhannock and for many years Troy, died peacefully Friday, February 9, 2024 at St. Peter’s Hospital.

Born in Troy and raised on the family’s Tomhannock farm, Leo graduated from Hoosic Valley High School, Class of 1956. He enlisted in the United States Army, and after basic training, was stationed in Korea. After completing his enlistment and Army Reserve requirements as a Specialist 4th Class and company clerk, he was honorably discharged on January 31, 1964.

Upon returning home from the Army, he took a position with the Norton Company in Watervliet, where he was employed as a Research Engineer. After more than 37 years of service, he retired in 1995.

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.


Special Information:

Staging at the funeral home with a flag line for the dignified transfer. Members will escort to St. John's Cemetery, NY-40 and Stillwater Bridge Rd., Schaghticoke for interment with military honors.
