About the Mission:

Angelo S. Pignataro faithfully and honorably executed his duties to our nation in the US Navy, serving as Electrician's Mate (EM-4652) from his enlistment on 8 October 1951 until his honorable discharge as PO3 on 30 September 1955.

While his most significant duty assignment was aboard the USS Wasp (CVA-18,) an Essex-class aircraft carrier, he also served aboard the USS Kula Gulf (CVE-108) a Commencement Bay-Class escort carrier, and the USS Midway (CVA-41,) an aircraft carrier.

For his faithful service, he was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, China Service Medal (Ext), National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, and United Nations Medal.
Patriot Guard Riders of New York has been invited by the family to stand for this American Hero.

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.


Special Information:

*If you wish to ride up together, members from Long Island may muster at Little Bay Park - parking lot just outside of Fort Totten in Bayside by 8:00AM. KSU 8:15AM
No funeral home is involved - Flag line at church for arrival of family, escort to Greenwood Union Cemetery, 215 North Street, Rye, NY, for interment of cremains.
