About the Mission: The Patriot Guard Riders have been requested by the family of Leo Williams to participate in his military honors funeral services. Leo, 88, passed on Sunday, May 22, 2022.

Leo was raised on Williams Dairy Farm in Fort Edward, NY. He graduated from Fort Edward High School in 1952 and entered the United States Army on 25 January 1954.  He was trained as a Radio Operator, AACS (MOS 760.0) and was assigned to the 21st Transportation Company in Korea.  He was honorably discharged on 22 November 1955 at the rank Specialist 3rd Class, and for his service, was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal and the United Nations Service Medal.  He was a proud military veteran.

Leo was employed by the United States Postal Service and served as a mailman for the Fort Edward Post Office and then as a rural route carrier for RD#1 Fort Edward. He retired after many years of service.

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: NYS Guidelines of 2 March 2022, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.

Special Information: We will stand flag line for arrival of family and dignified transfer, then escort to Saint Joseph's Church for a 10:30 am service. After church service escort to St. Joseph's Cemetery for military honors.
