About the Mission:

The family of Jeffrey Porter Alling has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral services. Jeffrey, 74, passed on Thursday, 24 March 2024 in Zephyrhills, FL.

Born in Albany, NY, Jeffrey entered the United States Marine Corps in 1967 and was trained as an Aircraft Hydraulic Pneumatic Mechanic (MOS 6052). He served 3 years and 8 months on active duty, including a 13 months tour of duty in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged on 15 January 1971 at the rank of Private First Class (E-2), and for his service, was awarded a Combat Action Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal w/1 Bronze Service Star and a Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal w/60 Device.

Jeff was a Residential Contractor renowned for his talent in drawing blueprints and constructing beautiful works for his customers. Outside of his professional life, Jeff enjoyed spending time with his dear friends and family, riding and building Harley Davidsons, hunting with The Albany County Fish and Game Club, camping and fishing with his loved ones, and playing cards. Jeff was an avid participant in his VA support groups where he built lifelong friendships.

Jeff is the brother of long-time PGRNY R4 member, Dave Alling.

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.


Special Information:

Staging at the funeral home with a flag line for the last hour of Visitation, 11:30 am - 12:30 pm. There will be a service at 12:30, followed by escort to Saratoga National Cemetery.
