About the Mission:

The family of Earl Emerson (Abe) Seelow has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral services.  Earl, 91, of Corinth, NY, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, Feb. 15, 2024.

Born in Edinburg, NY Earl was drafted on his 20th birthday into the US Army on 13 November 1952. He served 12 months in Korea, landing in Inchon Harbor in early spring of 1953. He saw front line duty with the 2nd Infantry Division, 9th Regiment, Easy Company, 4th Platoon, as a gunner on a 57 recoilless rifle until the end of the conflict. His front-line duty was in Kumhwa Valley on what was called the Boomerang. While in the Army, Earl received the following awards and decorations: Combat Action Ribbon, US Army Good Conduct Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Korean Service Medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars, ROK Presidential Unit Emblem, Korean Government War Service Award and 2 Overseas Bars.  Earl was honorably discharged as a TSGT in 1954.

Earl was employed by International Paper Company in Corinth, NY for 36.5 years as an hourly employee and salaried supervisor until his retirement on November 1, 1994. He served as the Edinburg Assistant Fire Chief for 2 years. Earl also had the distinct honor of being chosen as the Grand Marshall for the 2018 Corinth Memorial Day Parade.

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.

We will stage for dignified transfer and then escort to Saratoga National Cemetery for a 2:30pm service
