About the Mission:

The PGR has been requested by the family of Bernard F. Green to participate in his military honors funeral services.


 Mr. Green was a WWII veteran, he proudly served as a corporal in the United States Army from 1942 to1945. Bernie married the love of his life, Anna Marie Whipple in 1946. Together they raised 4 wonderful children. In addition to these important events, a highlight of his 100 years was being able to take part in an Honor Flight with his son Wayne, who also served in the military.

Bernie was proud to have worked for Cottrell Paper, from where he retired. He was also a member of the Rock City Fire Department for many years. Bernie loved woodworking. After retirement, he could be found in his workshop making many wooden crosses and other wooden treasures, which he happily gave away to anyone that he wanted to show appreciation.
Mr. Green served as a truck driver, Heavy (MOS 931) from 5 October 1942 to 7 December 1945
He received the Asiatic-Pacific Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, WWII Victory Medal, Lapel Button, and Marksmanship Badge with the M1 Rifle.
