About the Mission:

The Family has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in the final interment of Allan P. Atwell (PGR attended his Memorial service back in May).

PFC Allan P Atwell was a WWII Veteran and served in Europe during the Battle of the Bulge Campaign. Prior to his death Allan himself specifically requested Patriot Guard Riders participate in his military honors funeral when the time comes.

Allan P Atwell, one of our "Greatest Generation" heroes passed away on March 6, 2022 at the age of 96.   Allan was very proud of his service in WWII and could be seen locally at any number of veteran events willing to speak on his experiences as a veteran of the Battle of the Bulge as well as his subsequent assignment as an MP for the balance of the war.

After the war, Allan continued his service to his community by becoming an instrumental member in a number of volunteer fire departments. He was chairman of the Clifton Park Emergency Services Advisory Board. Allan also became a Board member of Patriot Flight, a participant in the Honor Flight network.

Allan would have celebrated his 97th  birthday on this August 3rd.

Patriot Guard Riders will stage and meet family members in the parking lot at the park setting.
From there PGR and funeral procession will proceed to military honors services at Saratoga National Cemetery

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: NYS Guidelines of 2 March 2022, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.

Special Information:

The parking lot is gravel so take extra care in the handling of your motorcycle.  KSU will be at 8:15 am and we will proceed to Saratoga National Cemetery

Second Stage - Special Information:

For those arriving early at the cemetery, proceed down to the shelter and await PGR escort. PGR to stand flag line for military honors ceremony and interment.

As this is the first funeral of the day there should be nobody ahead of Allan Atwell's interment
