About the Mission:

The family of Eugene D. Dollard has asked Patriot Guard Riders to honor his life and service at his funeral. Mr. Dollard passed on 16 March 2024 at the age of 98.

Mr. Dollard is a US Navy, World War Two veteran. He served two years, nine months active duty from 1943-1946, and achieved the rank of Seaman First Class with a rating of Store Keeper (SK). Seaman Dollard was a Seabee assigned first to the USS Henrico (APA-45), a Bayfield-class attack transport and later assigned to Construction Battalion #16 in Europe, and Naval Supply Depot 3256, Okinawa.

Mr. Dollard earned: American Campaign Medal, European–African–Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal, Honorable Discharge Lapel Pin (Ruptured Duck), NY State Conspicuous Service Cross, NY State Medal of Merit, French Legion of Honor.

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.


Special Information:

at approximately 11:30am, PGR members will form a flag line for the arrival of the cortege at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. We will render honors with the military honor guard during graveside services. Following services, PGR members will render a final salute.

Please be prepared with a clean 3x5 American or US Navy flag, and dress for the weather.
