About the Mission:

Patriot Guard Riders has been invited to stand and honor the military service of US Marine Corps Vietnam Veteran James Milton Brodie.  James, 78, passed on March 15, 2024.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, James joined the United States Marine Corps when he was 18 years old.  He served from August 14 1964 to November 7 1967, including a tour of duty in Vietnam while attached to the 2nd Battalion, 28th Marines, 5th Marine Division Headquarters Service Company.  He held a Military Occupation Speciality (MOS) of 2533, Radio Telegraph Operator. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Lance Corporal, and for his service was awarded a Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal w/1 Bronze Star, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal w/ 60 Device and a Meritorious Mast Certificate.

Sadly, Mr. Brodie's cremains have been left unclaimed, so Patriot Guard Riders will become his family and stand in his honor during his graveside military honors funeral services.

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.


Special Information:

Members will stage at Western NY National Cemetery, lower parking area. We will be the family for James Milton Brodie, and proudly stand and honor him.
