About the Mission:

The family of William "Bill" Morgan, Jr. has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in honoring his life and service. Mr. Morgan of Springwater, NY passed away on 16 November 2023.

Bill Morgan served our nation for 4 years on active duty in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1970-1974, with a Marine MOS of 6644-Aircraft Attack Systems Technician, AV-8A. He served with Marine Attack Squadron-231 (VMA-231), 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing at Marine Corps Air Station, Cherry Point, NC. He was honorably discharged from active duty on 28 September 1974 with the rank of Corporal (E-4), and he earned the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and USMC Rifle Expert Badge.

Bill was extremely patriotic, and served many years in leadership positions with Kern-Robinson, Post 905 Springwater American Legion and the Legion Riders. He and the members helped raised significant funds for the Bath VA, and he was often involved locally with Wreaths Across America efforts. Bill was a member of Patriot Guard Riders.

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:

Updated 8 March 2022

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.


Special Information:

PGR will provide a respectful flag line for the arrival of the family and friends and during calling hours from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM. The funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 PM, followed by the dignified transfer and 20-mile escort to Union Cemetery, 6870 Big Tree Road, Livonia, NY 14487 for interment with military honors.

Acknowledging that these are long calling hours, please consider standing for any amount of time that you're able to help honor the USMC, PGR and American Legion Riders service of William "Bill" Morgan, and to support his loving family and friends.
